Carving in Wood - A LoonARTS & CRAFTSJoin long time master carver and woodworker, Bob Lindemann, as he teaches the principles of safely carving wood, using the tools correctly and efficiently, while creating objects to display or use. Participants will start with a blank and leave with a carved and beautifully ready to paint loon. Mount the small bird on a stand to display or add a small hook to hang on a window or as an ornament. High quality carving knives and chisels available for everyone to use in class. Option to purchase the tools ($45) at registration or after the class (cash/check). Minimum age: 14+ Bob was incredibly patient and clearly loves sharing his interest in woodcarving. He had a good balance of letting people figure out the technique and then knowing when to pop in to problem solve or support. My loon looks great! HPFall/Winter 2026 -

Participants will start with a blank and leave with a beautiful comfort bird. These birds are a handheld gift usually given as an act of kindness or as a comforting token of love. Option to mount the small bird on a stand with feet and gift one for every friend and family member! High quality carving knives and chisels available for everyone to use in class. Option to purchase the tools during registration, or after the class for $45. This class will meet inside CVU.Fall/Winter 2026 -
Carving in Wood - A Vermont Songbird OrnamentARTS & CRAFTSJoin long time master carver and woodworker, Bob Lindemann, as he teaches the principles of safely carving wood, using the tools correctly and efficiently, while creating objects to display or use. Participants will start with a blank and leave with a carved and beautifully painted songbird to keep or gift. Choose from a Blue Jay, Cardinal, or Goldfinch and start your collection of Vermont song birds. Mount the small bird on a stand or add a small hook to hang on your tree or on a window and you might attract a mate! High quality carving knives and chisels available for everyone to use in class.
