Intro to Knitting - Super Bulky, Cozy Cowl
Have you always wanted to learn how to knit, but didn’t know which pattern to choose? A warm and Cozy Cowl is a wonderful first project to start your knitting journey.
As you knit your cowl, you will learn how to cast on, knit, purl, increase, decrease, and bind off. At the end, you will have a hand-knitted piece you can wear or give as a gift. In class, we will talk about knitting tools, yarn, and gauge.
Please bring the following materials to the first class:
Yarn: 175-200 yards #6 Super Bulky Yarn. A solid or tonal color is suggested for your first piece so you can see the stitches. Please have your yarn wound into a ball or cake for the first class.
Knitting Needle: Circular US Size 15 needle, 24-32” long
Optional Tools: Darning Needle, Stitch Marker (or scrap yarn), Scissors, Tape Measure. We will also have extras available to use during class.
You can buy yarn and needles in multiple local yarn stores, including: Must Love Yarn, Northeast Fiber Arts Center, The Makery, and Michaels. If you choose to visit Must Love Yarn to purchase any of the supplies needed for class, you can enjoy a 15% discount. Mention at checkout that you are taking a CVU Access class with Krista Atkeson.
